Erasmus Pavilion at Woudestein campus officially opened

October 10th, 2013

This autumn the Erasmus Pavilion in Rotterdam, designed by architects Powerhouse Company and De Zwarte Hond, was officially opened.

Central in the pavilion is the multi-purpose hall with 219 seats. The hall is suitable for theater, films, debates, parties, concerts and lectures, and through a telescopic seating system, mobile bars and a flexible stage all of these events can be facilitated very well.

The ambition of the university to be among the most sustainable campuses in the Netherlands can be seen in the many energy-saving measures. The pavilion uses natural ventilation, Aquifer Themal Energy Storage and solar panels on the roof.

The theater installations are also very sustainable, Theateradvies designed a theater lighting installation for the auditorium entirely with LED fixtures.
