July 12th, 2013
Bogota's Teatro Colón, an Italian horseshoe-shaped theatre built in 1885, located in the famous old colonial neighbourhood, La Candelaria, at the foot of the Andes mountains has opted for a radical modernization of its fly tower.
The restoration of the beautifully detailed auditorium was completed with much care and precision, and the next phase involving the back of house is already in course. The new fly tower, side and back stages will be enlarged and the theatre plans to acquire state-of-art stage machinery to optimize flexibility for its broad variety of performances and comply to the toughest safety norms in the world.
The forward thinking institution wants to make this special theatre one that is inspirational and safe for future generations. With its plans to expand in the next phase with an additional venue and workshops for their productions, they want to ensure a vibrant future for this historic gem.
Theateradvies is the theatre consultant in this project.
