Official start of the renovation of theatre De Meenthe in Steenwijk

On Tuesday, December 20th, Mr. Peter van der Terp gave the official start of the renovation of theatre De Meenthe in Steenwijk, The Netherlands.

Theatre De Meenthe is going to expand. Over the past ten years the number of visitors of the theater almost tripled to 175,000 a year, so there is a need for additional space.

The number of seats in the auditorium will be increased from 420 to 601 and the stage will be a few meters deeper. The seats shall be replaced and the stage technology is extended.

In addition, a small auditorium with about 120 seats will be created.

Theateradvies is the theatre consultant of the expansion of theater De Meenthe.

Due to the renovation the theater is closed a half year in 2012.

On November 1st 2012, the new theatre De Meenthe opens!
