Everybody opens Islemunda!

On Saturday 1 March 2014, the stage of IJsselmonde was opened. All visitors have cut the tape, and by doing that, they underlined the intention of Islemunde: being a culture workshop for whole IJsselmonde.  

Ilsemunda houses a theatre space with 120 seats, several studios and a film theatre. The Rotterdam Wijktheater has found a niche for itself. This company will use one of the studios for rehearsal and for performances too. For this reason the studio is equipped with retractable bleachers, a lighting grid and curtains as well as a mobile sound system. Sound equipment from the theatre space is available to supplement the mobile set.  

Islemunda is lit with LED only. There are no dimmers or conventional spotlights.
